So I was just given access to Fable 5.1.
Holy shit its an amazing model. It handles UI extremely well, it just is a great model.
Fable 5.1 is amazing at UI. However, it doesn’t do everything that you want of it. Like people have said. I was asking for Fable to make a change to the UI, and the entire project is using shadcn/ui. Fable expertly decided to use a standard <input> tag. When asked about it, Fable claimed “that the shadcn/ui was only for the other part of the project”. Now Astra would never do this. It fails in other ways, but certainly not in this way.
Fable, however, doesn’t fail in the way Astra does. For example, centering a <div>.
This took me 8 prompts to get to. All just to try and center that little number. Worst part is, even Gemini 3.8 Flash got it. First try.
We aren’t here to talk about Astra or Gemini though, but there isn’t too much to say about Fable. Its a great model, it has its good and bad moments, its expensive, and it works. I recommend it.
